Why remap?

  • MORE READY IN ACCELERATION :  The mappings that we study and test on each individual model are optimized to improve the brilliance and readiness of the engine, which translates into a tangible improvement in the engine speed increase in any ratio and in particular at medium- low where on average the use is more frequent.
  • REDUCTIONS OR ELIMINATIONS OF EVENTUAL RESULTS IN RECOVERY : each car model is carefully tested on the road in order to highlight any hesitations or "voids" during engine delivery, normally due to the ecological calibration of the engines that are imposed by the manufacturers' regulations . FulMotorsport tries to reduce or decrease these hesitations as much as possible in order to obtain a thruster with a more full-bodied and linear response.
  • OPTIMIZE CONSUMPTION : Fuel consumption is one of the main objectives that we set ourselves when developing the mapping of each individual model. In naturally aspirated engines, consumption remains almost unchanged (in some cases it may improve slightly) in exchange for significantly improved acceleration and recovery performance. In turbo-diesel engines, the improvement in fuel consumption is appreciable: on average, consumption decreases from 10% to 20% depending on the conditions of use and above all by exploiting the engine at medium-low speeds where the increase in engine torque is important in this type of thrusters. In petrol turbo engines, the improvement in fuel consumption is noticeable in constant engine use of the engine,
  • INCREASE OF TORQUE AND POWER :  increase of torque and power on each single model is decided on the basis of accurate road tests, taking into account consumption, emissions and above all the reliability of the engine. On average, the increase in performance based on the type of engine can be summarized as follows:
  1. Aspirated engines : increase from 10% to 15% of the torque and 8-10% of maximum power.
  2. Turbo-diesel engines : increase from 20 to 30% of the torque and 15-20% of maximum power.
  3. Turbo gasoline engines : increase from 20 to 25% of the torque and 15-20% of maximum power.

Is the manufacturer's warranty maintained after the modification?

In general we can say that the modification of the software in the control unit is not detected by the official diagnostic tools, it is therefore possible to go to the official workshops without any problem to carry out maintenance and coupons.

What does the intervention consist of?

FulMotorsport  operates exclusively electronically on each engine by rewriting the firmware (remapping) inside the injection control unit.
We work by appointment through telephone booking. The timing for each intervention can be quantified in about two / three hours. We carry out postal shipments of the control units.

Can mapping be customized?

It is possible to adapt the modifications according to the characteristics of the single motor. We guarantee maximum commitment, in compliance with the parameters, in order to optimize the customer's request, who very often focuses on maximum delivery at low engine speeds.

Can I also modify a new car?

No minimum mileage is required to proceed with the change. On new cars it is possible to proceed immediately with the modification without contraindications, but still complete a break-in period if provided by the manufacturer.

Sports cars such as BMW M3 / M4 or Mercedes C63AMG for which an early coupon is foreseen, usually after 2000 / 3000km, it is advisable to modify them only after the first coupon.

Serial reprogramming?

Many cars have fully electronic reprogrammable flash memories. We have communication protocols, for each car model, which allow us to download the original software from the diagnosis socket and rewrite the modification without having to dismantle the control unit.

The additional control unit

In the overwhelming majority of cases, to an external unit that interfaces with the original control unit of a turbo or turbodiesel engine and allows a moderate increase in torque and power.

Reliability and durability of the engine?

In order to ensure maximum reliability, we study and develop the maps for road use, keeping in mind the manufacturers' tolerance margin and exhaust emissions, without ever exceeding the engine design limits.

Is it possible to restore the original ECU on the modified vehicle?

Yes, it is possible to return to the original control unit configuration without leaving a trace of the intervention. It is a fast operation that we carry out free of charge for our customers.

In case of software update or recall by the manufacturer?

It is possible that the manufacturer makes a call to correct any programming errors of the electronic control unit or to solve mechanical problems related to engine calibration. If this happens on one of the cars that have performed the remapping, the software is canceled and updated. In this case the customer can contact us to re-map the new software.

Remember that once the software has been updated it is not possible to use the old file, therefore it is as if it were a new modification in all respects.

The vehicle overhaul?

Our maps have been studied on each car model, carefully evaluating the polluting emissions and respecting the limits imposed by the regulations during the testing and revision phase.
